What is QTFMS?

Quantum Theories of Fields, Matter, and Strings (QTFMS) is a seminar series that was initiated by a group of students from Turkey. Due to the lack of a seminar series focused on theoretical physics in our environment, and the lack of support for such a seminar series, we have decided to take this initiative independently many months ago. We have been able to create for ourselves an (online) place in which we can learn about the most recent developments first-hand and interact with the people who contribute to them. I am one of the founders and organizers of this series.

Our Vision and Motivation:

Giving talks is one of the most essential and traditional ways of communicating original ideas. As such, any researcher should attend seminars regularly to keep up with recent developments. As aspiring theoretical physicists from Turkey, we did not witness such activities as much as we should have. This series is our effort to change this situation for the better, both for ourselves and for the younger generations following in our footsteps.

Organization of the Talks

We have weekly talks, hosted by the person who invited the speaker. Usually, we fix the speaker list for the upcoming two-month, and we announce each talk on our mailing list regularly.
