The Problem We Saw
Having been taught in the San Francisco Giants organization and coached high school and college baseball / softball for a 25 years, Darin Cissell, observed a consistent gap: while players might practice bunting, true mastery was elusive. Traditional methods often lacked immediate, actionable feedback, making it hard for players to develop the feel and accuracy needed for successful bunts in critical game situations. The subtle nuances of push bunts, drag bunts, and squeeze bunts simply weren't being taught and trained with the precision they deserved. Furthermore, the foundation of any effective bunt – the stance and foot placement – was often forgotten, leading to inconsistency, frustration, and avoidance.
