C++ and C# were the most commonly used programming language for Windows software development. It also happens to be used in two popular game engine platforms around that time, Unity and Unreal Engine 4.
When I originally started my undergraduate course, I had set my sights on the Information Technology industry, with a focus on software development. While I found out that I enjoyed software scripting, it was clear that my lack of experience and slow uptake was preventing further career development.
Towards the end of my Bachelor's course, I shifted focus towards Game Development, after experiencing great success during electives involving developing games-related software. With some projects involving Unreal Engine 4 and multiple projects, including the capstone, utilizing Unity game engine, I felt where I would like to see myself in my career's future.
In collaboration with Deakin University, during the capstone project of my Bachelor course, I was involved in a team where we developed a Virtual Reality software experience for Liminal VR, a Melbourne-based digital studio.
Through their Liminal Platform, we had the great opportunity to develop an immersive experience, enabled by VR-capable hardware, where the goal was to re-introduce excitement to people emotionally affected by the worldwide events that occurred around that time.
