Welcome to Bunbu (文武). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Japanese learning mobile application ("App").
By using Bunbu, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
## Information We Collect
### 1. Account Information
When you sign in using Google Sign-In, we collect:
- Your name
- Email address
- Profile picture URL
This information is used to identify your account and sync your learning progress across devices.
### 2. Learning Data
We store your learning progress, including:
- Items marked as "Learning" or "Mastered" (Kanji, Vocabulary, Grammar)
- Quiz and JLPT test scores
- Daily streak data
- Coin balance and voucher redemptions
This data is stored in our backend (Supabase) and is linked to your account.
### 3. Chat Data
When using the BunbuAI chatbot feature, your chat messages and AI responses are stored to maintain conversation history. Chat data is linked to your account.
### 4. Device Information
We may collect non-personal device information for analytics and app improvement, including:
- Device type and OS version
- App version
- Crash reports
## How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide and maintain the App's features
- Sync your learning progress across devices
- Power the AI chatbot (BunbuAI) using Google Gemini API
- Display relevant advertisements via Google Mobile Ads
- Send push notifications for learning reminders (with your permission)
- Improve the App's performance and user experience

## Data Retention and Deletion
- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from **Settings > Account > Delete Account**
- Upon account deletion, all your learning progress, chat history, and personal data will be permanently removed
- You can also clear your learning progress without deleting your account from **Settings > Data > Clear Progress**
## Children's Privacy
Bunbu is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
## Advertisements
Bunbu displays advertisements through Google Mobile Ads. Google may use cookies and device identifiers to serve personalized ads. You can manage your ad preferences through your Google account settings.
## Push Notifications
Bunbu may send push notifications for learning reminders and updates. You can enable or disable notifications at any time through your device settings.
## Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App. You are advised to review this page periodically.
