We’re proud to announce that our recent work on enhancing robot-assisted surgery has been featured as a Featured Article in the prestigious IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering journal (Link). Our research addresses a critical challenge in robotic surgery: the inability to perform manual palpation to detect pathological tissues like tumors. To overcome this challenge, we developed a robotic palpation device capable of rapidly and non-invasively quantifying the stiffness of soft tissues. This innovation allows surgeons to make data-driven decisions during minimally invasive procedures, significantly improving patient outcomes.
