Bula National High School was then Bula Barrio High School. This was founded in 1966 by the former retired Public School Supervisor Sulpicio Amparado and housed at the AbaCorp of Bula, Camarines Sur under Republic Act 6054 known as the Barrio High Charter authored by Dr. Pedro Orata, the father of Barrio High School. During its first year, there were 90 students with two sections. Miss Purificasion Angarin and Miss Rosalinda Hermogeno were the advisers. That time, the principal in the Bula Central School was automatically the Assistant Principal and the principal of the Mother High School, Nabua National High School acted as the principal based from the Charter. From Barrio to Barangay High School in 1970 up to 1983. Then the enrollment increased year by year until Mrs. Merced A. Malanyaon became the Assistant Principal, followed by Mrs. Diana Saez, Mrs. Maria Cañeba and Mr. Fortunato Delino.
In the year 1984, this school was converted to Bula National High School by virtue of Batasang Pambansa Blg. 187 sponsored by Rep. Noli Fuentebella under the leadership of Mayor Benjamin Canet. In this nationalization, Mr. Hermogenes T. Tosoc was the full pledge Principal with 16 teachers, 2 Master Teachers and 8 Non-Teaching Personnel. Then, Mr. Hermogenes Tosoc was transfered to Pili National High School, Mr. Levy B. Avila, the Department Chairman of Science became the Officer In-Charge for 6 months. This was followed by Mrs. Fermina S. Nierva as the Principal. She served in the school for three years with 21 teachers, 2 master teachers and 9 non-teaching personnel.
Then, in the year 1993, Mr. Bernardo B. Bolain the O.I.C. Principal became the full pledge Principal in 1994, during his term 8 teachers were added making the total of 27 teachers and 2 master teachers. The Non-Teaching Personnel from Disbursing Officer to Cashier l, Clerk l to Clerk 2 finally Supply Officer l. Mr. Bernardo B. Bolalin was re-classed to Secondary School Principal ll. From June - November 2002, Mr. Bolalin was on sick leave due to heart operation and Mr. Francisco D. Raña was chosen by the faculty and staff to be the Officer-In-Charge until the end of November 2002 when Mr. Bolalin reinstated. But then Mr. Francisco Raña acted as the permanent O.I.C. whenever the principal was out.
