Buklod Atenista is the alliance of all the Student Governments from the Jesuit Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Philippines. Founded in 1982 with the purpose of uniting all Ateneans against the Martial Law Dictatorship, the organization is proud of its historic tradition of active involvement in the Filipino people’s struggle for democracy and justice. 

Today, the purpose of Buklod Atenista is to provide an avenue to achieve inter-institutional cooperation amongst all the Jesuit HEIs in the country towards the pursuit of upholding and enacting the Ignatian values of respect for humanity, dignity, freedom, justice, and service; while fostering patriotism and humanism so that all students of the Jesuit Schools in the Philippines might achieve their common aspirations and better strive towards becoming a person for others and catalysts of change.

The present member student government convening the national alliance through the Permanent Secretariat for the regular sessions of Buklod Atenista throughout 2021-2024 is El Consejo Atenista of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University.
