About Us

Built4Joy is a student-led initiative aiming to reduce fear amongst pediatric patients within health-care centers. We custom-design sets modeling healthcare settings to foster familiarity and comfortability. By bringing health-care environments to a tangible scale for pediatric patients, we invite them to take the lead in getting to know what would otherwise be an intimidating environment.

Operating Room

Check out our very first set! This one was developed alongside patients who told us stories of their first-hand experience.

The OR features an anesthesia machine, a tray table, a surgical table, etc.

Dental Clinic

Welcome to the dental clinic! Our dentists played a huge role in helping us maintain clinical accuracy–especially when it came to the educational cards.

The clinic features a dental chair, handpieces, imaging equipment, etc.

Physical Therapy Gym

The PT gym is dedicated to the kiddos who are recovering from neurological, orthopedic, developmental, and other conditions.

The set features walking supports, dumbbells, a treadmill, and a PT table.

Modified Barium Study

A Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) Study helps patients with swallowing difficulties by using an X-Ray to assess food movement and airway protection.

The set features a patient chair, evaluation tools, and a C-Arm X-Ray.
