Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it!
Tell a trusted adult, teacher, or friend if you feel uncomfortable or don't understand something.
Ask for accomodations in school or other places where you need assistance:
Examples: More time on tests, extra time for homework, verbal instructions or written instructions
Tell teachers, friends, or peers how you learn best
Understand your strengths and weaknesses and know that *everyone* has strengths and weaknesses
Example: I may not be a great speller, but I can draw beautiful works of art or am awesome at math
With the permission of an adult, research your learning differences on the internet or at the library
Don't make assumptions about what someone can or can't do!
Offer encouragement
Ask someone if they need help (especially if you know them well)
Give someone extra time to answer a question
Don't interrupt someone who is speaking or sharing an idea
Notice if someone is uncomfortable and ask them if they are OK
Stand up for someone who may be bullied or made fun of because of their learning difference
Extra time to plan my project
Sharing my thoughts out loud and having someone else write them out
Using a script to help me talk about my project
Help with understanding some of the words and what they mean
