The Lightship + AR House Global Build-A-Thon gives participants the opportunity to bring a piece of themselves into the real-world metaverse! As Niantic continues to build the real-world metaverse alongside developers, we believe it is important to have different cultures, interests, and perspectives represented. Whatever you're into, whatever you're proud of, whatever represents YOU, build your submission around that! Into basketball? Want to showcase your cultural heritage? Made some really weird art? Great! We want to see it in your entry!

That's not all! We want you to use our meshing sample code in your project. You can make tweaks, switch out assets, and add additional functionalities. This is a 2 day build-a-thon and we believe leveraging our sample code will ensure you create a successful build in a short amount of time.

Remember, our technology encourages movement, exploration, and connection out in the world. These are attributes we hope to see baked into the AR experiences you create!

The Lightship + AR House Global Build-A-Thon runs from 9a PT April 2nd, 2022 through 2:59p PT April 3, 2022. After April 3, 2022, our team of judges will evaluate entrants based on the criteria outlined in the "prizes"section below.

Submissions open up at 12:01a PT on April 3, 2022.
