Citation Tools
The major citation manager software packages allow for creating a new citation style - which is great! Except that at this point they do not have the capability to create the links we have outlined in Buffalo Style Citation. Here are some work arounds - and we will be adding to this list of tools!
Zotero
Zotero offers a robust and fully functional free citation manager software. To create Buffalo Style Citations in Zotero follow these steps:
Open your Zotero desktop application.
Download the CSL file HERE.
Go to Edit -> Preferences -> Cite
Click on the + button at the bottom to add a citation style.
Choose the file you saved in step 2. Choose this as your citation style.
Using Word - create your document and insert your citations as usual.
When finished - unlink your citations from Zotero (available in the Word citation menu).
Highlight the author link and cut it. Select the author name and right click to add a link - paste the link into the window and hit ok.
Do the same as step 8 for the title and title link.
Replace all "et al" with "+".
EndNote
