100% Free & Truly Private: BudgetGuard was built with love for India to bring complete financial clarity without compromising your privacy. The app is 100% free with zero costs—neither tangible (no fees or subscriptions) nor intangible (no data monetization or ad tracking).

1. Zero Personal Data Collection

BudgetGuard is designed as an offline-first utility app. You can use the app immediately without signing up, creating an account, or sharing any personal details (such as your name, email, phone number, or contacts).

• No Server Uploads: Your financial data, transaction history, categories, and custom rules are stored strictly on your local device.

• No Account Required: We do not maintain user databases or cloud servers to store your personal records.

2. SMS Access & Local Processing

To automatically organize your daily expenses, BudgetGuard requests SMS permissions (READ_SMS / RECEIVE_SMS).

• Bank & UPI Alerts Only: The app's local parser engine scans incoming financial SMS alerts (like UPI, Debit/Credit card, and Bank notifications) strictly to calculate expenses.

• 100% On-Device Processing: SMS parsing happens entirely inside your phone's memory. Your SMS contents never leave your device and are never transmitted to any external server.

• Personal Messages Ignored: Non-financial SMS messages (personal chats, OTPs, promotional texts) are completely ignored.

3. Data Control & In-App Deletion

You maintain absolute ownership and control over your data at all times:

• In-App One-Tap Data Deletion: You can permanently wipe all your expense records, custom categories, and rules directly from inside the app at any time via Settings ➔ Account Action ➔ Delete All Data.

• Local Backups: If you choose to export your data, the backup file is generated locally on your device storage. You decide if, where, and how to transfer or store that file.

4. Age Rating & Safety (Rated 3+)

BudgetGuard is rated for Everyone (3+).

• Family Safe: The app contains no objectionable, harmful, adult, or sensitive content.

• Simple Financial Utility: It serves purely as an offline financial utility to help individuals and families track their budgets easily.

5. Third-Party Services

To support essential app updates and core system compatibility, BudgetGuard uses standard Google Play Services. These services may collect basic, non-identifying technical metadata (such as device OS version or crash logs) as governed by Google's own privacy terms.

6. Policy Updates

If we update this policy, the revised version will be reflected here with an updated effective date. Since we do not collect your email or contact information, we encourage you to review this policy within the app periodically.
