The Buck Lake Improvement Club is a nonprofit community organization located on the Iron Range in northern Minnesota. The club was established in 1949, and served as a conservation group for Buck Lake and the surrounding area. Today, the club is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations described under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
The club's activities take place at the Buck Lake Community Center (45736 W Buck Lake Road, Nashwauk, MN). The club itself hosts monthly breakfasts, a Labor Day weekend event with raffles and a men's softball tournament, occasional Bingo events, special dinners, and more. The Community Center is also used for informational meetings and emergency gatherings, and is available to rent.
The club receives no government funding, and is supported financially by its members' dues, donations, admission to special events, and grants from community businesses and charitable organizations. The club has 501c3 property tax exempt status for Itasca County.
The Buck Lake Improvement Club is totally organized and maintained by volunteers.
Membership dues are based on the calendar year - $30 for a couple, $20 for a single aged 18+. (2026) We're working on the digital membership form on this website (we're still working on a way for digital payment, though!).
