BubbleNotes (“the app”, package com.bubblenotes.app) is a note-taking app that lets you circle text on your screen and save it as a task. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
Your notes are stored only on your device. The app works fully offline. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not run analytics or tracking. Sign-in and Google Drive backup are optional and entirely your choice.
Your tasks, subtasks, reminders, categories and app settings — kept in the app’s private storage on your phone. You can delete all of it at any time in Settings → Your data → Delete all my data.
If you use the “Your Photo” bubble, the picture you choose is processed on your device and saved locally as the bubble image. It is never uploaded.
When you tap the bubble and choose Draw, the app asks Android for permission to capture the current screen so you can circle text. The captured image is used only in that moment to read the text you circled (using on-device text recognition) and is then discarded. It is not saved and never leaves your device.
If you choose to create an account, we use a third-party service (Supabase) to store your email address and a referral code so premium unlocks can be verified across devices. You can request account deletion in the app. If you never sign in, no account data is created.
If you choose to back up, the app uses Google authorization to save a copy of your tasks to your own Google Drive. The app only accesses files it creates. You can stop using this at any time. This is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
Display over other apps — to show the floating bubble.
Screen capture (media projection) — only while you use Draw, to read circled text.
Notifications — to deliver task reminders and show the ongoing bubble notification.
Exact alarms — to fire reminders at the time you set.
Usage access (optional) — only if you enable “Hide the bubble in some apps”, to detect which app is in the foreground. This is never uploaded.
The app is not directed to children under 13.
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
