SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
"Temporary Shelter for Disasters"
2020-2021 Spring Semester
This online exhibition presents the collaborative design projects developed in the Sustainable Design course by 4th year students in the Department of Architecture. The aim of the course was to increase the awareness of the vital need for sustainable design approaches in architecture and urban design, focusing on the mutual relation between human and the built environment.
In this project, the students worked in groups to design a "temporary shelter for disasters". During the development of the collaborative design project, students raised critical discussions on diversity of user characteristics, needs, activities and social aspects of the design as well as green design solutions, sustainable building structures and importance of energy efficiency.
You can also find the links of the web sites below, which are developed by the students as a diary during the semester to highlight the sustainability issues and examples in the built environment.
