Member Status is an optional value that may help provide additional information about a customer's membership. This value is not applicable for all associations. Member Status are associated with a particular Member Type. Each Member Type can have its own set of statuses.

When you add these records, you will select the status and flipped status which is what the status changes to when the membership dates are enacted. You can add as many status codes as your Association deems appropriate per Member Type.

The initial status of a Membership is defined on the Membership Package. This is the status prior to the membership dates being updated by the system. For example, a membership record might have an initial status of 'pending payment'. When the membership activation terms are met that have been set in the update dates when field (as defined on the Member Type of the package), the initial status will automatically change to the 'flip status' (also defined from member type status). This status is retained by the membership until it is changed, either manually by an authorized user, or by a netFORUM process. Two processes may change the status of a group of membership records: the Mass Status Change process and the Mass Drop process.

For some associations, the status may be used to track a prospective member's approval status. These changes would typically be made manually; the Member Status will only change automatically as described above.

The group that became known as Status Quo was formed in 1962 as "The Paladins". The members met while playing together in the school orchestra at Sedgehill Comprehensive School in Catford, London, and consisted of Francis Rossi on guitar and lead vocals, Alan Lancaster on bass, Jess Jaworski on keyboards and Alan Key on drums. According to Rossi, the group was Key's idea, and they practiced in Jaworski's bedroom, playing covers such as The Shadows' version of Jerry Lordan's "Apache, "Wake Up Little Susie" by The Everly Brothers and The Beatles' "Love Me Do".[2] Rossi has remained in the group up until the present day, making him the group's longest-serving member, and the only remaining original member. Rossi, Parfitt, Bown, Edwards and Rich would release eight studio albums together, starting with In the Army Now (1986) and ending with Famous in the Last Century (2000), as well as the live album Live Alive Quo (1992), and saw hits such as "In the Army Now" (1986), "Burning Bridges (On and Off and On Again)", "The Anniversary Waltz" (1990), and "Come On You Reds", a 1994 version of "Burning Bridges" performed with the Manchester United football team, with lyrics changed to a football theme.

Updating member statuses maintains current records on the overall status of your members and tracks several aspects of membership, including membership renewals and expired members. If member statuses are not changed, some members might retain unwarranted access to organizational privileges.

When Germany joined the Western Union, the latter changed its name to become the Western European Union. This accession, together with the termination of the Federal Republic of Germany's status as an occupied country, was bringing the country closer to NATO membership. The Federal Republic of Germany officially joined the Western Union on 23 October 1954 and its status as an occupied country came to an end when the Bonn-Paris conventions came into effect on 5 May 1955. The next day, it became NATO's 15th member country.

In 1995, the Alliance carried out and published the results of a Study on NATO Enlargement that considered the merits of admitting new members and how they should be brought in. It concluded that the end of the Cold War provided a unique opportunity to build improved security in the entire Euro-Atlantic area and that NATO enlargement would contribute to enhanced stability and security for all.

Drawing heavily on the experience gained during this accession process, NATO launched the Membership Action Plan - or MAP - at the Washington Summit in April 1999. Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia were invited to begin accession talks at the Alliance's Prague Summit in 2002. On 29 March 2004, they officially became members of the Alliance, making this the largest wave of enlargement in NATO history.

Albania had participated in the MAP since its inception in 1999 and Croatia joined in 2002. In July 2008, they both signed Accession Protocols and became official members of the Alliance on 1 April 2009.

The major stumbling block to membership of the Alliance was the issue of the country's name. A historic agreement was struck between Athens and Skopje in 2018, resolving this issue. The Prespa Agreement enabled NATO to invite Skopje to begin accession talks to join the Organization, while encouraging the government to continue implementing reforms. On 15 February 2019, the country, which was previously known as the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, was officially recognised as the Republic of North Macedonia. On 27 March 2020, it became NATO's 30th member.

On 18 May 2022, Finland submitted its official letter of application to become a NATO Ally, alongside Sweden. At the 2022 NATO Summit in Madrid on 29 June, Allied Leaders agreed to invite both countries to become members of NATO. Together with Sweden, Finland completed accession talks at NATO Headquarters in Brussels on 4 July, confirming its willingness and ability to meet the political, legal and military obligations and commitments of NATO membership. On 5 July, Allies signed the Accession Protocols for both countries, which then became official Invitees, attending NATO meetings as such.
