Think–Discuss–Solve (TDS) is an initiative for IIT Bhilai students aimed at fostering a culture of mathematical thinking, discussion, and collaborative problem solving.
As part of this program, participants will periodically receive a set of mathematical problems. These will be followed by interactive discussion sessions, where we will collectively explore ideas, compare approaches, and develop solutions. The sessions are intended primarily for master's and first-year PhD students in mathematics at IIT Bhilai, as well as highly motivated fourth-year bachelor's students with a strong interest in mathematics.
The primary goal of TDS is to strengthen problem-solving skills while encouraging critical, creative, and independent mathematical thinking. Rather than emphasizing ready-made solutions, the focus is on the process of discovery. Participants are encouraged to share ideas, learn from one another, and refine their reasoning through discussion, with guidance, hints, and feedback provided whenever needed.
TDS aims to provide a welcoming environment for exchanging mathematical ideas, learning collaboratively, and developing a deeper appreciation of mathematics. Students with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to engage actively are warmly invited to participate.
