Privacy Policy — BT Priority Link (Android)
Last updated: December 13, 2025
BT Priority Link (referred to as "we," "us," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the app collects and processes, why it does so, where that data is stored, and what choices you have regarding your data.
Summary (Plain English)
Your core app data stays on your device. Bluetooth priority lists and custom device names are saved locally on your Android device using DataStore.
The app does not read your call history. It uses phone state permission only to detect if a call is active to route audio properly.
Firebase Analytics is used. It may send app usage and device information to Google/Firebase to help us improve the app and its reliability.
No account or sign-in is required. Your priority lists are never stored on any server, and no account creation is necessary.
What information does the app process?
1. Bluetooth Information (On your device)
The app interacts with Bluetooth to:
List your paired devices and show their status
Connect or disconnect devices and route audio properly
Respect the priority order you set for devices
Examples of Bluetooth data used: device name, device MAC address, connection status and capabilities.
Important: We do not sell or share your Bluetooth device list with third parties for advertising, nor do we upload your priority lists to any server.
2. Phone State Information (On your device)
The app uses the READ_PHONE_STATE permission only to detect whether a call is active (for example, whether your phone is idle or in a call). This helps the app route call audio correctly.
We do not: read your call logs, record calls, access your contacts, or save your phone state history.
3. Local App Storage (On your device)
Using Android’s DataStore, the app saves the following data locally:
Your audio and call priority orders
Custom names you assign to your devices
A log of connected devices (used for diagnostics and app behavior)
User interface preferences (like theme mode and tutorial completion)
All of this data stays on your device and is deleted if you uninstall the app.
4. Firebase Analytics (Data sent to Google/Firebase)
Our Android app includes Firebase Analytics, which may collect and send certain information to Google/Firebase such as:
App usage events (like when you open the app)
Device details (model, OS version)
Approximate location inferred from your IP address by Google (standard for internet communication)
This data helps us understand how users interact with the app, improve its stability, and enhance the user experience.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information mainly for:
Managing Bluetooth device priorities and routing audio correctly (core functionality)
Diagnosing issues and improving compatibility and reliability
Collecting aggregated analytics data to improve the app and fix bugs
Data Sharing
Your core app data (priorities, custom device names) is stored on your device only and is never shared.
Analytics data is sent to Google/Firebase as part of Firebase Analytics (if enabled).
We do not sell any personal information.
Security
We prioritize keeping your data on your device and do not transmit priority lists to any servers. While no system is 100% secure, we follow best practices to collect and keep only what is necessary.
Your Choices
You can uninstall the app at any time to remove all local data.
You can control app permissions and settings via your Android device’s system settings.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated occasionally. We will revise the “Last updated” date at the top whenever changes are made.
