Privacy Policy for Bt Creations Apps

This Privacy Policy applies to mobile games and applications published by Bt Creations, including Montessori Quest and Eastern Colony.

Different Bt Creations apps provide different features. Some sections of this policy therefore apply only when the relevant feature is available in the app. For example, the “Ask Maria” AI feature is currently a feature of Montessori Quest and is not necessarily available in other Bt Creations apps.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when users play or use Bt Creations apps.

1. Information stored on the device

Bt Creations apps may store information locally on the user's device, including:

• player or profile names;

• game or learning progress;

• experience points and player levels;

• achievements;

• unlocked content;

• resources and gameplay progress;

• settings;

• purchased-content entitlement information;

• save-game information; and

• other information necessary to remember the user's progress and app experience.

The exact information stored depends on the app and the features being used.

If Google Play Games Services or cloud saving are enabled, certain progress and related information may also be associated with the user's Google Play Games account and stored or synchronized through Google services. This may allow supported progress to be restored or synchronized across compatible devices.

AI conversation history, where an AI feature is available, is not intended to be stored as permanent game progress or included in achievements, leaderboards or gameplay statistics.

2. Information collected by Bt Creations

Bt Creations does not require users to create a separate Bt Creations account unless a future app explicitly introduces such a feature and this Privacy Policy is updated accordingly.

Bt Creations does not intentionally request or collect unnecessary personal information such as precise location, contacts, personal photos or advertising identifiers through its apps.

Bt Creations apps do not display third-party advertising, and Bt Creations does not sell user data.

Some apps may use Google Play Games Services. Google may process information necessary to provide Play Games functionality according to Google's own privacy policy and terms.

Bt Creations does not operate its own database of users' Google account information.

Some optional features, including AI functionality where available, may involve additional processing as described below.

3. Optional AI features

Some Bt Creations apps may provide optional AI-powered functionality.

Montessori Quest currently includes an optional educational AI feature called “Ask Maria.”

Maria is a fictionalized educational roleplay inspired by Maria Montessori. AI-generated responses may sometimes be incorrect or inappropriate despite safety measures.

AI features are activated only when the user chooses to use them. Bt Creations apps do not automatically send background questions or conversations to the AI service.

Local AI processing

On compatible Android devices, an AI feature may use Google ML Kit GenAI technology powered by Gemini Nano and Android AICore.

When local AI processing is available and functioning, the prompt, AI inference and generated response can be processed locally on the device.

In this situation, the question and generated answer are not sent to the Bt Creations cloud AI service for generation.

Google may separately process technical information required to provide, maintain or update Android, AICore or ML Kit services according to Google's applicable terms and privacy policies.

Cloud AI processing

If compatible local AI is unavailable, an AI feature may use a secure Bt Creations cloud service when an internet connection is available.

When cloud AI is used, information transmitted may include:

• the current question or message written by the user;

• a limited amount of recent conversation history, where necessary to maintain conversational context;

• the currently selected app language; and

• limited optional gameplay or learning context relevant to the requested response.

For Ask Maria in Montessori Quest, conversation context is currently limited to no more than the eight most recent conversation messages.

This information is used to provide the requested AI response, maintain limited conversational context and operate the feature safely.

Bt Creations does not intentionally include information such as the user's Google Play Games identity, email address, precise location, advertising identifier, device identifier, purchase history, recovery code or complete game save in AI requests unless a future feature specifically requires such information and this policy is updated accordingly.

Normal internet communications necessarily involve technical network information, such as an IP address, being processed by network and infrastructure providers in order to transmit and secure a request.

4. AI service providers

Cloud-based AI requests may be processed through a Bt Creations backend hosted using Cloudflare services.

The backend may securely communicate with OpenAI to generate AI responses.

API credentials are stored on the server and are not included in the Bt Creations mobile applications.

Bt Creations does not deliberately create persistent OpenAI conversation archives from these requests and does not voluntarily share API inputs and outputs for OpenAI model training.

Service providers may temporarily process or retain information for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance and operation of their services according to their applicable terms, policies and data-processing practices.

Cloudflare and OpenAI process information according to their respective privacy policies, terms and data-processing arrangements.

5. Children's privacy

Some Bt Creations apps, particularly Montessori Quest, are designed for children and families.

Bt Creations does not knowingly request unnecessary personal information from children through its apps.

Users of AI features should not provide unnecessary private or identifying information. Children in particular should not enter:

• their full name;

• home address;

• school name;

• telephone number;

• email address;

• passwords;

• precise location; or

• other private account or identifying information.

Child-directed AI features are designed to discourage users from sharing unnecessary personal information.

If a user nevertheless voluntarily includes personal information in a question or message, that information may be processed as part of the request when cloud AI processing is used.

6. AI safety

AI features intended for children are designed to provide age-appropriate interactions.

For example, Ask Maria in Montessori Quest is primarily intended for educational conversations with children approximately 9–12 years old.

Bt Creations applies safety instructions and automated safeguards intended to reduce harmful, inappropriate or unsafe responses.

Child-directed AI features are designed not to request unnecessary personal information, encourage secrecy from parents or guardians, provide explicit sexual content, provide instructions for self-harm, weapons, dangerous activities, drugs or serious criminal activity, or falsely represent themselves as doctors, therapists, lawyers or emergency services.

Automated AI systems are not perfect. Responses may occasionally contain mistakes or unexpected content.

Where appropriate or required, Bt Creations may provide an in-app method for users to report inappropriate AI-generated responses.

7. Purchases and Google Play

Bt Creations apps may offer optional purchases through Google Play.

Purchases are processed by Google Play.

Bt Creations does not receive or store users' payment-card details.

Google may process purchase information and technical information under Google's own privacy policy and terms.

An app may receive purchase status, product information, transaction confirmation or entitlement information from Google Play so that purchased content or benefits can be provided and restored where supported.

Purchases may include permanent content unlocks, premium currency, consumable items or other digital game content depending on the app.

Bt Creations does not use purchase information for third-party advertising.

8. Google Play Games and Google services

Bt Creations apps may use Google services to provide functionality including:

• app distribution and updates;

• purchases;

• Google Play Games functionality;

• achievements;

• leaderboards;

• supported cloud synchronization;

• security and platform functionality; and

• compatible on-device ML Kit, Gemini Nano or AICore functionality.

The exact Google services used may differ between Bt Creations apps.

Information processed by Google through these services is subject to Google's applicable privacy policies and terms.

AI questions and responses are not intentionally added to Google Play Games achievements, leaderboards or gameplay statistics.

9. Online and multiplayer features

Some Bt Creations games, including Eastern Colony as it develops, may provide online functionality such as shared game systems, multiplayer features, rankings, events, shared maps or other online gameplay.

Where such functionality is available, limited gameplay information may be transmitted to and processed by the services necessary to operate those features.

This may include information such as:

• player or profile identifiers;

• gameplay progress;

• rankings or scores;

• achievements;

• claimed or controlled in-game locations or territories;

• multiplayer actions;

• game events; and

• technical information necessary to operate and secure the service.

Bt Creations will seek to minimize the personal information used for these systems.

If online functionality materially changes the types of information collected or the purposes for which information is processed, this Privacy Policy and applicable Google Play disclosures will be updated before or alongside the relevant release.

10. Data sharing and third-party services

Bt Creations does not sell or rent user data.

Bt Creations does not share user conversations with advertisers or data brokers and does not use AI conversations for targeted advertising.

Information may be processed by service providers where necessary to provide requested app functionality.

Depending on the app and feature, these providers may include Google, Cloudflare and OpenAI.

These providers operate according to their applicable privacy policies, terms and data-processing arrangements.

11. Data retention and deletion

Locally stored gameplay or learning data generally remains on the device until it is reset in the app, cleared through Android settings or removed by uninstalling the app.

Information stored or synchronized through Google Play Games or other Google services may remain associated with the user's Google account according to Google's retention and deletion practices.

Users may be able to manage or delete this information through their Google account or Google Play Games settings.

Bt Creations does not currently operate a separate general-purpose user-account database containing users' Google Play Games progress.

AI conversation history is not intended to be stored by Bt Creations as a permanent personal conversation archive.

When cloud AI processing is used, service providers may temporarily process or retain information according to their applicable policies and legal obligations.

Purchase records maintained by Google are managed according to Google's policies and applicable legal requirements.

12. Analytics and advertising

Bt Creations apps do not display third-party advertising.

Bt Creations does not use AI questions or responses to create advertising profiles.

AI questions and responses are not intentionally included in gameplay analytics, achievements, leaderboards or gameplay statistics.

If analytics functionality is introduced or materially changed in the future, this Privacy Policy and applicable platform disclosures will be reviewed and updated as appropriate.

13. Security

Bt Creations aims to minimize the collection and transmission of personal information.

Local gameplay and learning information is generally kept on the device except where supported online services are used for features such as cloud synchronization, Google Play Games, purchases, multiplayer functionality or other explicitly online features.

Cloud requests are transmitted using encrypted HTTPS connections where applicable.

Secret API credentials and similar server credentials are stored on servers and are not intentionally included in publicly distributed mobile applications.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, but Bt Creations aims to limit data handling to what is reasonably necessary to provide and protect its apps and services.

14. Voluntary reports of AI-generated answers

Where an app provides an AI reporting feature, users may voluntarily report an AI-generated response to Bt Creations.

In Montessori Quest, when a user reports an Ask Maria response, the app sends:

• the reported AI-generated answer;

• the selected report reason;

• app language;

• AI provider category;

• app version;

• platform; and

• a random report ID.

The child's question, conversation history, name, email address, Google Play identity, device identifier and precise location are not intentionally included in this report.

These reports are stored in an EU-restricted Cloudflare D1 database for up to 30 days so that Bt Creations can review safety issues and improve filtering.

Expired reports are automatically deleted. Failed reports are not intentionally queued on the device for later submission.

This section applies only to apps and versions that provide this reporting functionality.

15. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Bt Creations apps, online functionality, AI features, third-party services or data practices change.

The effective date at the top of this policy will be updated when a revised version is published.

Material changes affecting children's information, AI processing, online services or external service providers will be reviewed before or alongside the relevant app update.
