BSRI aims to foster inclusive, respectful, and equitable research collaborations between interdisciplinary scientists and undergraduate/postgraduate students from Bangladesh, upholding the highest standards of scientific and academic integrity.


Scope:


This Code applies to all participants, including mentors, mentees, organizers, and guests, in any BSRI-affiliated project or activity.



1. Respect: Treat everyone involved with respect and professionalism.

2. Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity (EDI): Promote equal opportunities, value diversity, and strive for inclusivity.

3. Harassment-Free Environment: This initiative is a safe-zone for professional and/or aspiring researchers of different fields and backgrounds. No form of harassment, bullying, or discrimination will be tolerated.

4. Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information shared within collaborations.

5. Scientific and Academic Integrity: Uphold honesty, objectivity, and transparency in research and academic pursuits.


Expected Behavior:


1. Communicate respectfully and professionally.

2. Listen actively and consider diverse perspectives.

3. Avoid conflicts of interest and declare potential biases.

4. Respect intellectual property and credit contributions.

5. Support and mentor students with integrity.

6. Conduct research with:

    - Rigor and accuracy

    - Proper citation and acknowledgement

    - Transparency in methods and data

    - Adherence to relevant regulations and ethics


Prohibited Behavior:


1. Harassment of any form (including but not limited to verbal, physical, or virtual).

2. Discrimination (based on race, gender, religion, disability, etc.).

3. Bullying or intimidation.

4. Retaliation against individuals reporting concerns.

5. Academic or scientific misconduct, including:

    - Plagiarism

    - Fabrication or falsification of data

    - Misrepresentation of research or credentials


Reporting Incidents:


1. Report incidents using the attached draft format or anonymously via our google form.

2. BSRI will investigate and address incidents promptly.


Consequences of Non-Compliance:


1. Warning and guidance.

2. Temporary or permanent removal from BSRI activities.

3. Notification of home institution or funding agency.


Amendments and Review:


This Code will be reviewed annually and revised as necessary.
