Building Science Laboratory (BSL)

Building Science Laboratory (BSL) at Yonsei University (Director: Prof. Chul Kim) conducts data-driven and simulation-based research to improve building energy and environmental performance. The BSL integrates building energy modeling, HVAC system analysis and optimization, climate change–responsive design, and Measurement & Verification (M&V) to address our societal challenges and contribute to the transition toward zero-energy buildings and a low-carbon society. In addition, the BSL investigates data-driven simulations and digital technologies to analyze building environments and environmental performance across multiple spatial scales, from individual buildings to urban systems. Through our efforts, the BSL pursues interdisciplinary research connecting engineering, buildings, data, and building energy policy to create human-centered built environments and propose next-generation building energy standards for a better environment and society.

연세대학교 건축공학과 빌딩사이언스연구실(BSL)은 건물 에너지 및 환경 성능 개선을 위한 데이터 기반·시뮬레이션 중심의 연구를 수행하는 연구실로 건물에너지 모델링, HVAC 시스템 해석 및 최적화, 기후변화 대응 설계, M&V(Measurement & Verification)의 기술의 통합과 더불어 우리 사회의 문제를 해결하고 제로에너지건축과 저탄소 사회 전환에 기여합니다. 데이터 기반 시뮬레이션과 디지털 기술을 활용하여 개별 건물부터 도시 규모까지 다양한 스케일의 건축환경과 성능을 분석하고 공학, 건축, 데이터, 건물에너지 정책의 연결을 통해 인간 중심의 건축환경 구축과 차세대 건물에너지 기준을 제시하는데 기여할 것입니다. 

다음과 같이 학부연구원 및 대학원생을 모집합니다. 

We are actively looking for graduate students (M.S and Ph.D. programs) and undergraduate research interns who are strongly motivated to work on building science and technology.
