We are accepting Campers from ages 7 - 18, at all levels of horse/riding experience!
In order to participate, all Campers are required to sign a release form.
If the rider is under 18, the parent/guardian for the camper will need to sign it as well.
From no experience to expert level,
our camp welcomes all who love & enjoy horses! 😊
Please drop off Campers to Black Spur by 9:30am and pickup at 2:00pm.
Required GEAR:
-Boots with a heel
-Jeans
-Helmet
*Riding helmets will be provided or campers may bring their own

Required PROVISIONS:
Lunch for Monday - Thursday

We have a microwave & refrigerator on site!
Campers will be responsible for taking care of their horse daily, including but not limited to, brushing, feeding, saddling, picking feet, cleaning tack & Bathing your horse. Instructors will teach the proper techniques and why these are an important part of horsemanship.
Campers will work with their horse both in the saddle (riding) and on the ground (groundwork). There are individual (horse/rider) and teamwork (teams of multiple horses/riders) activities throughout the week, geared towards strengthening skills and building a bond with your horse and fellow campers!
When campers aren't riding or taking care of their horse, they will partake in fun activities and exercises that are geared towards skills off the horse, exploration of themselves and the world around them & relationship building.
Examples of past activities: painting, hiking, games, planting flowers, etc.

At the end of each camp week,
we will host a horse show to show off all the skills the Camper's have learned!!
We encourage all supporters (parents/guardians, extended family, teachers, friends, etc.) to come out and cheer the Campers on.

Kristin is a Rock Island native who always had a love for horses.
She started taking riding lessons when she was in grade school and found a love for training horses and teaching others.
She has been an instructor/horse trainer for more than 5 years and is the
co-owner of Black Spur Equestrian Center!
