Bay State skaters are categorized into levels to keep everyone challenged and safe. This document outlines Bay State's leveling system.

You must pass each exam with an 80% or above. Once you've finished the exam, send a screenshot of your passing score to the co-heads of Training. Level 3 skaters will not be rostered without passing the WFTDA rules exam.
New Skater: Concussion Training
Level 1: The Basics
Bay State Brawlers run leveled assessments to ensure the safety of all skaters participating in our sport. These assessments are generated from the guidelines of WFTDA minimum skill requirements. All charter team skaters must display ability to perform the minimum skills prior to being rostered in a regulation game. Bay State requires all Level 3 skaters to pass minimum skills.
CONFIDENTIALITY is key; even though one may think it encouraging, an assessor may not give any direct feedback to skaters during or directly after the assessment. Saying, "I think you did really well!" is saying too much.
Assessment results will not be shared with anyone who is not a stakeholder (an assessor, an assessed skater, the Assessment Chair, or the New Skater Coordinator).
See the Training Handbook for qualifications of assessors
The Assessment Chair will organize all assessments. The Chair will organize the assessment, print all paperwork needed, organize trainers to assess during practice, organize assessment feedback, and send out email results. Assessors are expected to meet before practice to receive paperwork and after the assessment to debrief and collaboratively discuss assessment results. Assessors will provide written feedback within three days of the assessment. This is a full volunteer credit.
