Our Troop Leaders stay up to date on all required training and are eager to learn more and improve their skills every year!

We welcome new and experienced leaders to our troop all year round. If you would like to learn more about free training opportunities available for parents of our scouts, regardless of whether you are considering to be a leader or not, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Youth Protection Training (Online)

More information about Youth Protection Training on scouting.org. Every adult involved with the troop should take the online Youth Protection Training. Adults that attend camping trips are required to complete Youth Protection training.

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) The Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) course builds and expands on the concepts and themes introduced in Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training and Varsity Coach Position-Specific Training, and provides Scouters with the confidence to take youth into the outdoors.

Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training provides an active, fun, and positive learning experience for new and experienced Scoutmasters to learn and apply proven techniques for running an effective Boy Scout troop.

The Adult First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for victims.

Merit Badge Counselor

This information on the BSA Website will guide new and potential merit badge counselors through their responsibilities in the role and will give them an understanding of the methods of counseling Scouts. It is intended as a short orientation course for new merit badge counselors before they begin working with Scouts.

Troop Committee Challenge is designed for troop committee members and becomes the course (along with Youth Protection training) troop committee members need to be considered “trained.”

Wilderness First Aid is a two-day introduction to general medical concepts and basic life support skills. It is targeted to the outdoor enthusiast on day trips or short adventures. The course is taught by professional instructors with significant patient care and back country experience.

Wood Badge is an advanced, national leadership course open only to Scouting volunteers and professionals. Scouters from Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, and Explorers, and district and council Scouters all are welcome and belong here.
