Boy Scout Troop 221 is chartered by the League of Extraordinary Scouting Alumni (LOESA) in Everett, and meets at the Cedar Cross United Methodist Church in Mill Creek, where most troop meetings and non-camping events are held. We are part of the Salish Sea District within the Mount Baker Council, which is part of the Boy Scouts of America. Troop 221 works to balance the exposure to the outdoors, rank advancement, and community service. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for our boys to develop personal skills, to learn about their country, community, and themselves, and to have fun while in Scouting.
Scouting makes a difference!
Statistically, 4 out of 100 boys in the USA will become scouts but of the leaders of this nation in business, religion and politics, 3 out of 4 were scouts!
For every 100 scouts, 1 will report they used scout skills to save someones life, 2 will use these skills to save their own lives, 17 will become volunteers as adults, 8 will find their their future vocation from scouting, and 3 will become pastors!
26 of 29 of the first Astronauts in NASA's program were Eagle scouts, and 133 of the 233 Astronauts were scouts at one time.
Of Senior Class Presidents 89% were scouts.
