Conference Attendees

The conference will be held using Zoom Webinar. You can view Zoom's comprehensive step-by-step walkthrough for webinar attendees here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_0jrF0vXNR-KzwaJBoFrEZA

Webinar attendees do not need their own Zoom account to join a webinar. You can join through a browser from any desktop, laptop or mobile device.

Join the conference webinar by following the link and password included in registration confirmation email from Zoom (you should also receive a reminder in the days before the conference).

Attendees will have the ability to watch and listen to the conference presentations and to use the raise hand and chat functions to ask questions. You will not be visible or audible to other attendees or panalists unless the moderator promotes you to panellist status and you agree to share your audio and video.

If you leave the zoom conference by closing the browser and want to return at later stage, you may need to restart the zoom webinar using the emailed link and passcode. Keep your email with this information until after the conference sessions you are interested in have ended. Remember that the conference is based in Adelaide and all times are in Australian Central Daylight Time. The summary program allows you to save sessions to your calendar and they will be automatically converted to your local time. You can also use one of the many online time zone converters to check the time difference. One we have found very easy to use is Every Time Zone .

Conference Presenters

The conference will be held using Zoom Webinar.

Before your session:

Please ensure that you have chosen the device you will use to present, and tested its microphone and camera.

Make sure that you are registered for the conference, and that you can easily access the link sent in your registration confirmation email.

Plan the background that the viewers will see during your presentation. For example try not to sit with a bright window behind you as this will make you appear as a dark silhouette to the people watching online.

On the day of your presentation:

Please be ready half an hour before your session. The conference hosts can see when you have joined the conference, so if you plan to join using a different email to the on which you registered, please let us know in advance. We will worry if your presentation is about to start and we can’t find you in the attendee list!

Join the conference webinar by following the link and password included in registration confirmation email from Zoom (you should also receive a reminder in the days before the conference).

This will give you the ability to watch and listen to the conference presentations and to use the raise hand and chat functions to ask questions.

Shortly before your programmed session begins we will 'promote' you from attendee to panellist status.

A series of dialogue boxes will appear on your screen alerting you to your new panellist status and asking you to unmute your microphone and to share your video. During this time we will be available on the Zoom chat to answer any questiosn.

Once you are promoted to panellist you also will see a greater range of session buttons available to you. These usually appear along the bottom of the page. There will be a share button which will allow you to share your webpages, documents, short videos and PowerPoints, or anything that you have prepared for your session.

If you intend to use PowerPoint's presenter view, we suggest you read this helpful resource for sharing PowerPoint presentations in Zoom: https://www.thinkoutsidetheslide.com/the-complete-guide-to-using-powerpoint-presenter-view-in-zoom-1-or-2-screens-windows-or-mac/

The conference host will briefly introduce you and ask you to start your presentation.

The hosts will moderate the Q&A session after your presentation, during which you will be able to interact with other panellists.

After your presentation and the Q&A, we will relegate you to attendee. You will then be able to participate in all other sessions as an attendee.

We would be happy to schedule a short practise session prior to the conference. Let us know at: bibsoc2020@gmail.com
