The final Order and Payment Deadline is October 27th!
If you want to bring orders and payment to a scout meeting, that date would be October 23rd.
We know this is a long email, but please take a few minutes to read it. In short, the popcorn fundraising season is upon us and all scouts are requested to participate. We will be combining our efforts for popcorn sales so everyone will sell as Troop 450 but, as always, 1/6 of your sales can be applied toward summer camp or other scout-related expenses. (For example, if you sell $1800 worth of popcorn, the troop will receive $600 and you can apply $300 to summer camp. This will cover summer camp fees!) Details were shared at the August 21st meeting and are listed below:
1) TAKE ORDERS - order forms were distributed at the August 21st meeting. You can take orders from friends, family, and neighbors and collect payment until the end of October. You can go door-to-door if you are comfortable with it, but it is up to each family to decide how to sell safely. Please make sure you are using the current form since there are a few small changes in product and pricing. For payment, please collect all the cash payments and when you are done selling, WRITE ONE PERSONAL CHECK made out to Troop 450. It is so much easier than handling cash, and a lot less work for the treasurer. Customers may also pay by checks, which can be written out directly to Troop 450 and submitted at the same time as your other payments (if someone accidentally writes a check in your name, please include it in your total cash check). All popcorn product will arrive mid-November for you to distribute to your customers.
2) SHOW-AND-SELL - For interested scouts, we can set up show-and-sells at local stores. A show-and-sell is when two or three scouts sell product directly to the community for 1-2 hours at a time. Please let us know ASAP if you are interested, and the dates/times you are available from the following list: 9/24-25, 10/1-2, 10/15-16, 10/22-23.

This is a great opportunity for scouts to practice interacting with adults and sell popcorn without going door-to-door. Total credits are split between the scouts for every shift. Additionally, if you would like some popcorn to take with you for door-to-door sales, please let us know specifically which ones/how many you would like. Please note that we will not have any chocolate varieties on hand (but those can be ordered on the form).
3) ONLINE SALES - scouts who have not sold online before will need to contact us with a parent's name and email address to set up a Seller ID. Once you receive the ID from us, go to myprpopcorn.com and follow the steps to register and set up the online profile. Personalize with a photo/video and email the link to friends and relatives/post on social media. IF YOU SOLD ONLINE IN THE PAST, it is the same ID so you can start selling right away. (Please let us know if you have forgotten the ID.) Shipping is free, but please remember that the online store has a different selection of products. The buyer will need to use your Seller ID for you to earn credit, but will pay for and receive the product directly so you won't need to do any payment collection or product distribution. Online sales can start immediately.
The popcorn fundraiser is the only way we raise money for the troop, council, and scouting program. ALL SCOUTS are requested to participate in selling.
Again, in addition to prizes, a portion of individual sales can go toward next year's summer camp registration.
