At the start of my current literacy practicum, I created and shared this "About Me" infographic with participating students and their parents. Building relationships from the start includes introducing myself in a welcoming way, and getting to know families and their children's unique needs and interests. That's how I'll begin each year in my own classroom and continue to grow those positive relationships throughout the year.

Throughout each of my practicums, I've also provided detailed weekly student progress updates and answered any questions that families have had. In my future classroom, I'll remain committed to consistent family communication that focuses on celebrating wins and working as a team.
