I am a passionate educator from Delmar, New York. As I complete the final semester of my M.S. in Literacy Education (All Grades) from SUNY Oneonta with a 4.0 GPA, I'm excited for the opportunity to join a dynamic public school community as a full-time teacher. I hold initial NYS certification in Early Childhood Education (B-2) and Childhood Education (1-6) and will earn my Literacy (All Grades) certification upon graduation in May of 2026.
I have experience differentiating for a wide range of learners, including students with IEPs. Relationship-building is at the core of my teaching philosophy. I am committed to creating a classroom community where every student feels safe, seen, and valued. I believe that social-emotional well-being is the foundation necessary for every student to reach their highest academic potential. I bring curiosity, warmth, and high expectations for every student, celebrating individual progress and helping students thrive through intrinsic motivation and goal-setting.
My calling to teach began in fourth grade, when my teacher, Ms. Lamora, returned our graded work each Friday with a personalized note attached. Her notes were not only about academic progress, but about who we were becoming as people. She noticed our character strengths, celebrated our growth, and helped us see the positive qualities in ourselves we had not yet recognized. I want every student I teach to feel as seen, valued, and capable as I did in her class.
My passion for teaching has only deepened through extensive fieldwork where I've seen firsthand what is possible when instruction is differentiated to recognize students' unique strengths, interests, and areas for growth. I design multimodal, data-driven lessons rooted in the Science of Reading, differentiate for diverse learning needs, and hold high expectations for every student while celebrating their progress. I believe no child's potential should be treated as fixed, and I am committed to helping every student develop a growth mindset that will serve them inside and outside of the classroom for years to come.
