Volunteering

Lions Kidsight USA

Bryan Noon Lions Club participates in the Lions KidSight USA program by offering free vision screening for children ages 6 months to 6 years. The special equipment identifies possible vision problems and allows parents to take children to an optometrist for further evaluation.

If you would like Lions to come to your event or organization to provide free screenings to children, contact us. We will bring the equipment to you!

Texas Lions Camp

Bryan Noon Lions Club supports the Texas Lions Camp, which offers a traditional summer camp experience to children with disabilities. Each year, members travel to the camp location in Kerrville and help camp personnel repair and clean the facilities prior to the start of the camp season.

Vision Support

Bryan Noon Lions Club sponsors eye exams and corrective lenses for children (and some adults) based on referrals from school nurses in Bryan Independent School District and from agencies serving the community.

The Club also participates in the Lions Recycle for Sight program, which accepts donations of usable eyeglasses.

If you would like to donate eyeglasses, you can drop them off at the following locations: Sam's Club, TSO (in the Physician's Center), Aggieland Spectacles (3030 University Dr E), The Retina Center (2806 E 29th), and Greene Eyes Optometry (725 E. Villa Maria)

Brazos Valley Food Bank

Bryan Noon Lions Club members gather once a quarter to volunteer at the Brazos Valley Food Bank to perform a variety of activities including putting together food bags the backpack program and the senior outreach program, sorting food, packing vegetables, and other necessary tasks.

Palace Theater Clean-Up

Bryan Noon Lions Club partners with a Texas A&M University's Big Event team to clean up the Palace Theater, a community outdoor theater located in Downtown Bryan.

Radio M*A*S*H Toy Drive

Each year, Bryan Noon Lions Club participates in the Radio M*A*S*H Toy Drive. The drive, sponsored by media groups in the Brazos Valley and held in the parking lot of Post Oak Mall, collects new and gently used toys for the holiday season. The Club donates funds to purchase toys and members volunteer their time to perform various tasks required during the toy drive.

Apache Tree Project

Bryan Noon Lions Club participates in the Apache Tree Project. Each year, the Apache Corporation donates trees to promote conservation.  The Club receives a donation of trees and distributes them to community organizations who may need them. Most recently, the Club donated 100 trees to Habitat for Humanity to plant at local Habitat houses.

Coat Project

Based on requests from local school counselors and teachers, Bryan Noon Lions Club provides around 100 coats for children who need them for the winter.

Habitat for Humanity

Bryan Noon Lions Club assists Habitat for Humanity with both funding and volunteers. Most recently, the Club provided a meal for a Habitat crew, cooking hamburgers on site so other volunteers and Habitat staff could spend more time working on houses.
