I am a scholar of political communication and political psychology, and have taught at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) since 2013. My research primarily focuses on political incivility in digital discourse, especially elite discourse, and the affective and behavioral reactions exposure to incivility induces. My Google Scholar profile can be seen here.
My commentary and work has appeared in a number of news outlets, including The Washington Post, USA Today, Democracy: A Journal of Ideas, The Houston Chronicle, The Christian Science Monitor, The Texas Standard, and The Source. I received my Ph.D. in government and politics from the University of Maryland in 2013.
