COMMUNITY ISSUE
Did you know that studies indicate approximately 22% of nursing home residents have no family? Studies also indicate that roughly 60% of residents have no visitors throughout the year. This data is alarming. After volunteering at Brush Country Nursing and Rehabilitation in South Austin I learned that 40% of their residents are classified as having no family. That means that Christmas can be extra lonely and difficult for our neighborhood seniors.
GOAL
Find Community Partners and Volunteers willing to adopt 10 15 80 seniors at Brush Country Nursing and Rehabilitation. The goal is to collect enough donations from our wishlist to deliver one present and one Christmas card for every senior. (Approximately 26 men and 52 ladies) UPDATE: Because of the outpouring of support and generous donations all Seniors have all been adopted! THANK YOU!!! If you would like to donate please donate items off the Wishlist for Brush Country Nursing and Rehabilitation.♥️Join our NextDoor Group Friends of South Austin Nursing Home Seniors
