Bruno Nkuiya
Research field
Environmental and Natural Resource Economics
Current research
Bruno’s current research concentrates on three major issues: (i) addressing the formation of regional fisheries management organizations or international environmental agreements; (ii) quantifying the economic and conservation benefits of implementing marine protected areas; and, (iii) addressing how resource management should be optimally or strategically adjusted in response to changes in environmental conditions or regulation. To address these issues, he utilizes several tools of analysis including spatial models, econometrics, differential games, static or dynamic games, optimal control theory, and Bayesian learning. Bruno’s research has been supported by various funding organizations including the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
