This heavy duty billet carrier bearing is designed to replace your busted ass stock bearing, and is a direct bolt on for many vehicles as well as a universal fit for the full fabricator! Smaller or bigger bearing diameters available as well.
Without adding a second slip yoke, this bearing is not compatible with stock 2WD driveshafts. You will need to install a slip yoke on the rear half of your 2-piece driveshaft (if not already equipped). This heavy duty carrier bearing is also compatible with many 4WD trucks.
Some modifications to the rear suspension on a 2WD truck demand the addition of a slip yoke to the secondary driveshaft. This causes an issue with the OEM carrier bearing being pushed on by the axle plunging from back to front and/ or vice versa, during extra suspension travel. Which is why we were forced to design this heavy duty carrier bearing.
Our heavy duty carrier bearing is engineered to transfer the extra axle plunge load from the transmission slip yoke, to the secondary driveshaft slip yoke that was added. NOTE: This can cause stress on the carrier bearing bracket. We recommend adding gussets to the cross member bracket. 4WD N/A because it is flanged at the transmission and not a slip yoke.
These bearings can fit all Tacomas , Tundras and Toyota pickups and more (other makes). Please note: minor mount modification may be required for some makes and models, please contact us for compatibility questions. Our carrier bearings come equipped with premium USA bearings and our one piece housings are machined from durable 6061 T6 aluminum, fully assembled with hardware and quality urethane bushings that have been proven for all driving levels and conditions.
*The OEM bearings can hide underlying issues that will become noticeable with the heavy duty design of this carrier bearing.
This bearing will NOT cause vibration!
It is the installers' responsibility to ensure that:
Your drive shaft
Primary & secondary lengths are correct
Is in good condition
Is phased correctly
Is disassembled and reassembled correctly
Is Balanced correctly
All U joints are in good condition and properly installed.
Engine and transmission mounts are like new or (recommended) solid mounts.
There are no preexisting engine, transmission, or real axle housing vibrations.
Pinion and transmission angles must be proper.
