Browser Toolbox Privacy Policy

Product
Browser Toolbox is a free, open-source, local-first browser workflow extension. It provides keyboard navigation, page actions, search, tab control, mouse gestures, super drag, wheel and rocker gestures, site rules, and custom pointers.
Information handled
When you actively use a feature, the extension may process locally in the browser the current tab URL and title, tab and window state, bookmarks, history, session entries, web page content, selected text, search queries, keyboard input, mouse movements, gesture paths, site rules, and local pointer images. This information is used only to perform the navigation, search, tab, page, or settings action that you requested.
The extension does not create accounts and does not collect advertising identifiers, device fingerprints, installation identifiers, or crash logs. It does not sell or rent user information.
Storage and sync
Settings and custom pointers are stored in browser storage. If you explicitly enable the browser native sync setting, the browser may synchronize configuration under its own policies. Browser Toolbox does not upload settings or page data to its own servers.
Network and sharing
The extension does not run telemetry, analytics, advertising, remote configuration, or background uploads. It does not load remote JavaScript, remote fonts, or downloaded code for execution. When you actively open a page, use search, or open a help, repository, or license link, the browser visits the requested site. Search queries are sent only to the search engine you choose.
Other than these user-triggered browser actions and browser-managed extension updates, the extension does not contact a project server or share user data with third parties.
Permission purposes
tabs and sessions: read and control tabs, windows, and recently closed pages for tab lists, navigation, and restore actions.
bookmarks, history, search, favicon, and webNavigation: provide user-requested bookmark, history, search completion, icon, and navigation features.
storage: save local settings, rules, and user-imported local resources.
scripting and web access: provide keyboard navigation, page actions, and mouse input features in web pages. Processing is local and page content is not uploaded.
Security boundary
The extension does not read or store passwords and does not upload page content, cookies, authentication information, or personal data. Avoid using page-reading features on untrusted pages.
If this policy, the product interface, and actual behavior ever differ, the current released behavior must be reviewed and this policy updated.
