Brown Middle School Bulldog Band

SUMMER BAND 2019

This summer we will be hosting a district-sponsored Summer Band program to enrich the skills of experienced players as well as to introduce beginning students to what band is all about. It is open to all students in grades, 1-8. The advanced group will learn fun but challenging new music while the beginners will learn instrument fundamentals and some simple songs. Both groups will put on a concert at the end of the program and we will also have a pizza party after our last rehearsal. The program lasts nearly a month, so if you have travel plans it's no problem. Your child can just attend on they days they are available.


Dates - Registration is Tue, May 28, 10:00AM - 1:00PM, camp instructional days are May 29 - June 27. If you miss the registration day they can still register on any of the instructional days.

Times - Beginners will meet 8:30AM - 9:30AM and Advanced (students with 1 or more years of band experience) will meet 10:00AM - 11:00AM.

Tuition - $20 cash or check made out to Brown Middle School

Instrument Rentals - preferably from a music store as my instrument inventory is limited, but school rentals are $10. Advanced students from schools other than Brown MS will need to rent from their school's band director.

Welcome to the Brown Middle School Bulldog band, under the direction of Mr. Michael Mendez. While Brown MS may only be 11 years old, in that short time the band has established a reputation campus-wide of discipline, dedication, responsibility and outstanding musical achievement. In addition to musical knowledge and skills, I strive to send all students to the high school level embracing concepts of teamwork, leadership, citizenship, discipline, responsibility, and achieving goals.

This website is where you can come to find out information regarding our schedule (rehearsals, concerts, auditions, etc.), fundraisers, band booster activities, and other general information. You will also find updates on our Facebook page, so be sure to follow us there. Our band handbook is also available on this page. Please review it with your child and return the information sheet as soon as possible. 95% of my communication with you will be via email, so it is extremely important that I get these sheets back from you.
