Formed 'sometime' after the invention of steam engines, Brown Star shipyards quickly rose to prominense for their 'no job too outlandish' and 'so cheap you wonder where the steel came from' attitude. Naturally some detractors will claim that cost cutting has some bearing on the tendency of ships launched from the shipyards to find themselves as artifical reefs but that's neither here no there.

Following the success of the oceanic ventures, a spinoff company - Bearstool Engineering was founded to explore the market for steam engines on land. Early results were hit and miss but with the advent of heavier than air travel, a new market was opened, ripe for low budget, no questions asked aircraft.
