Professional Punjab Dhol Rhythm Playing Introduction > >

The dhol is a double-sided barrel drum played mostly as an accompanying instrument in regional music forms. Dhols are amongst other events used in Indian wedding ceremony processions such as Baraat or Varyatra. Some of the most common Punjabi dhol rhythms are bhangra (originating with the old, community bhangra dance), dhamaal (associated with many cultural functions, including worship at Sufi shrines), and kaharva, a dance and song rhythm.

Four People of Dhol performers including a trumpet player will enter the wedding hall at the peak time of the dancing floor and they will shift the dancing movements to Bhangara Indian Style and keep playing for 30 – 40 minutes at the wedding time. In Some cases they might enter the hotel guiding with the newly wedded couple after the going away change and they will carry the couple to the dancing floor to make the crowd more surprise.
