I had tried several other sets of instructions to get my Brother hll2320d going (just a printer, no scanner) including trying to make sense of the brother site on my own. This was the one that worked. Nice job! Note that on my Ubuntu 20.04 I found the libsane rules file at /lib/udev/rules.d/60-libsane.rules
