About Me

Brook Taube is a successful business owner, investor, entrepreneur, musician, philanthropist, and father. Two of the billion-dollar businesses he founded and expanded into the NYSE through initial public offerings. Brook has been developing financial services businesses for more than 25 years. He started his career in financial services at Bankers Trust in the early 1990s. Over 500 companies received funding from these companies, and as a result, thousands of jobs were created across 35 different industries in North America. Many of the top Wall Street firms now employ colleagues he mentored in senior roles.

He resides in Wilmington, North Carolina, with his wife and four kids. He spent more than 25 years living and working in New York City, but he recently concluded that North Carolina is a better place to balance work and family life. He has two brothers, two nieces, two nephews, three sons, and a daughter.

In 1992, Brook graduated with a bachelor's degree from Harvard College. Because of their dedication to education, Brook's parents encouraged the same in Brook and his siblings. Before attending Harvard, Brook attended public schools from K–12, where his mother worked as a career special education teacher in the local New Hampshire school system where he was raised. His father was a professor, attorney, and judge whose work also touched on family, mental health, and education. Brook has always prioritized education, and he still does so with his own family and in how he gives back to the community.

Being an experienced and successful businessman, his experience has primarily been in the financial services sector, but it has expanded to encompass healthcare, technology, and other developing industries.

Recent sponsorships include Progressive Therapeutics Inc. (www.pti.life), a company to enhance the mental health of millions of people worldwide. With additional products for more generalized mental health conditions in the works, PTI's initial focus is on emotional disorders affecting women.

Additionally, Brook B. Taube has been collaborating with startups in the technology sector to develop data collection and anonymization protocols that will serve as benchmarks for future technology usage.

With more than 30 years of experience as a board member, executive, and investor, Brook brings a valuable perspective to businesses with expanding teams who gain from his strategic advice and assistance in obtaining funding.

Community involvement has been a priority for Brook since a young age. Brook frequently participates in and supports activities that support education and healthcare locally and nationally. He is the son of a judge specializing in social welfare and a mother who has helped many children with special needs. Brook is dedicated to promoting innovations in global mental health, a healthy and sustainable environment, and early childhood education. He and his wife have long been vocal supporters of Memorial Sloan Kettering and the mission to deliver top-notch cancer care. Over the past 20 years, Brook has invested millions of dollars in these focus areas.

Outside of his job, Taube enjoys a variety of things. He thinks his hobbies and activities give him a sense of purpose and promote patience and discipline, which benefit him personally and professionally.

Having played the violin and viola for over 45 years, Brook Taube deeply loves music. He also plays the mandolin and the guitar. His children, who play the guitar and piano, have inherited this love of music. He has served on the New Amsterdam Symphony boards and the New York Philharmonic. Over the years, his devotion to and love for music have made him a steadfast supporter of the arts.

His interests also include activities that reduce stress and uphold mental health because mental health has been a recurring theme in his investments. As a dedicated cyclist (road, mountain, and gravel), Brook frequently competes in amateur competitions both domestically and abroad. He competes for the New York City-based team Dave Jordan Racing.

In addition to being a skilled violinist and an enthusiastic cyclist, Brook enjoys surfing, skiing, and tennis with his family. Brook has always been a voracious reader, preferring audiobooks to hard copies these days. He enjoys reading about current events, history, science, politics, religion, and all kinds of biographies.
