How can I borrow physical materials?

  1. You may request materials by placing a hold on your online account or email circulation@brookslibraryvt.org.

  2. You will be notified when your order is ready. Please allow one full business day for fulfillment.

  3. You can request up to 10 items at a time. Borrowing limits on DVDs, new books and audio remain the same.

How do I pick up my holds?

  1. Item are available at the Main Street Entrance ONLY.

  2. Knock on the door and hold up a sign with your full name on it.

  3. Once a staff member sees you, step back 6 feet from the door (wait at the yellow cones).

  4. Your items are already checked out to you. Staff will place your items on the yellow table.

Please wait until staff is back in the building, with the door closed, before picking up the bag.

Where can I return items?

Please return all items to the Big Blue Book Drop Box

The Big Blue Book Drop Box is located immediately on the left when you enter the municipal lot (near where the police station used to be). We will only accept materials that have been returned at the blue book drop. There is a handy parking spot reserved for your car, and you can drop them in from the driver's side window. Walkers are also welcome!

Home Delivery Service

On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from noon-1pm, Brooks Memorial Library will offer limited delivery service of materials to Brattleboro residents who are unable to come to the library.

Please specify that you need delivery service in your subject line or phone message.

  • You may request up to 5 items. Borrowing limits on DVDs, new books and audio remain the same.

  • We can only offer materials that are physically available at Brooks Memorial Library for this service.

  • You will be notified to verify your delivery day and time. Because our delivery capacity is limited, please be patient, it may take several days to fulfill your order.

  • When you are ready to return your items, contact us by email or phone to schedule a pick-up.
