Brookside Swim Club Rules and Policies
2022 POOL SEASON
The following rules and regulations are for the protection and benefit of all members. The club manager and lifeguards are authorized to require those violating any rules or regulations to leave the premises. Any failure to comply with these rules shall be considered sufficient cause for immediate suspension of all pool privileges of the offender for a period of one to seven days, and repeated violations can also be considered sufficient cause for termination of club membership.
All persons using the pool do so at their own risk. The swim club is not responsible for accident, injury or death in connection with such use.
Dues, late fees and assessments must be paid each season prior to using the facilities of the swim club.
GENERAL
• Beginning with the 2022 pool season, every membership that enters the pool facility will be required to sign a liability waiver form upon their first visit. The signing of this liability form is a new requirement as part of the Brookside Swim Club Liability Insurance. Liability waivers were sent out by email to all members and will be available at the pool upon your first visit.
• Parents are responsible for their own well being and the well being of their children, both at the pool facility and in the water. Lifeguards are not intended to be the only layer of safety enhancement and accident prevention at our pool.
• Children under age 10 cannot be left unattended at the pool and must be supervised by a parent or guardian or Babysitter (ages 14 and above) at all times. Designated babysitters are subject to the Manager’s approval. The Manager has the right to deny the approval of any babysitter under the age of eighteen when it appears that the health or safety of pool members is in question.
• The swimming pool, baby pool, pool deck, and shower rooms will be cleared for AT LEAST 30 minutes following audible thunder or visible lightning, following the Red Cross safety standards. All members and guests should take shelter indoors or in a hard-top vehicle. Partially enclosed structures, such as picnic shelters, do not provide adequate protection from a lightning strike. Since the pool does not have adequate indoor space, members must leave the premises and wait the storm out either in a hard-top vehicle, their home or other safe indoor location of their choosing. They may not remain within the pool fence or outside of the gate unless in a hard-top vehicle.
• The Manager has the right to close the pool or deny access based on adverse weather conditions.

• No food, gum, candy or drinks are allowed in the pool.

• The lifeguard stands are to be used exclusively by the lifeguards. There will be no unnecessary and distracting conversation with the lifeguards while they are on duty.

• No pets are permitted inside the pool area.
• Trash must be placed in proper cans.
