Critical Issues
The Town, and in particular Precinct 3, is experiencing pressure to rapidly increase density. We need to manage growth in an intentional, community-driven way that furthers sustainability, equity, affordability, commercial vitality, and the principles of good urbanism—within budget constraints and without undermining our existing infrastructure and Town services. Our comprehensive, inclusive, neighborhood-based planning process, set to launch in 2024, will enable us to come together as a community to clarify our goals and rewrite our antiquated zoning bylaw to maximize the beneficial long-term impacts of development on the Town.
