"Principal Peter Badalament was honored for his 14 years at the school, and Rigby pointed out several tidbits about the CCHS leader...He appeared on a "60 Minutes" segment, plays Dungeons & Dragons, loves heavy metal music, is fascinated with the idea of zombies and was suspended from elementary school for setting off a stink bomb."
I’m married w/2 kids (one boy, one girl) ages 13 and 8 respectively and a 3-year-old dog (labradoodle). I work in marketing as a copywriter and live in Brookline.
After working in Marketing at HP for 14 years I became a Middle School Teacher in California. I live in Cupertino with my daughter and husband. We love travelling, eating and keeping up with family and friends.
I haven’t travelled far from Brookline and live in Metrowest. Our girls have started their careers in NYC and San Francisco. After a 25 year career as a prosecutor and criminal defense attorney I became a judge and am sitting in Boston.
I’ve become a runner and still play volleyball. My husband and I are enjoying lots of travel. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
I became a Nanny Sue this year!!
I live just north of Boston, but frequent Brookline often. Married, and have two beautiful adult daughters. Got involved with local politics, and became an elected member of the Select Board. Currently serving my third term. Still very close with many high school friends.
I'm still in Massachusetts, living up on the North Shore with my husband, two sons, three dogs and a cat. My daughter is in PA school in RI so we still get to see her a lot and are looking forward to her graduation this coming March.
I went back to work in publishing back in 2006 and have been fortunate to travel the world as part of my job and for fun with my family.
I moved to Winston-Salem, NC with my husband, Matt Bankson, and our two sons, 18 years ago. Prior to that I lived in the Boston area, and before that San Francisco. I’m in my 25th year of teaching Spanish. My parents live on Beacon Street and I visit them as often as possible.
Here is a memory from September 2022 of Carla Roddy, Julie Slotnik, and me, Liz May, taking a walk in Kennebunkport. All 6 of our parents graduated from Brookline High in the 1950’s.
I still reside in Chicago with my husband and children.
I visit my family and friends in Massachusetts throughout the year when I get the chance. Excited to see everyone and rekindle old relationships and see where everyone's at in their lives.
Since 1999, I've been living in Columbus, Ohio, teaching and conducting research at the Ohio State University. These days, much of my work involves elder abuse and the systems that try to prevent it. More importantly, my wife Robin and I raised two boys here (now 27 and 23) who are healthy, happy, and more or less launched. My parents still live in my childhood home near Washington Square and one of our sons lives in Cambridge, so I'm happy to come back to Brookline with some frequency. Outside of work and family, I volunteer regularly, nowadays mostly with my synagogue and at local assisted living facilities. Highlights of the past 40 years have included climbing mountains on six continents. A lowlight was being one of the first confirmed cases of COVID in Ohio.
Lynne Dewhurst-McBurney and her family relocated to New Jersey from San Francisco in 2015. In 2024 she left Morgan Stanley after a 25-year career as a litigation paralegal (following 10 years at a now-defunct SF law firm) and is the intake and client care manager at a boutique family law firm in the Bay Area, working fully remote. Lynne is a rabidly devoted band mom whose 16-year old son, Duncan, plays trumpet for the Ridgewood High School Marching Band, which won the USBands Class IV A national championship last year. Lynne is truly sorry to miss reunion, but November 8 is the band's final comp this year. Lynne keeps up with a number of friends from the Class of '85 and had the delight of her son becoming friends with Geoff Smith's daughter Violet in 2024, at about the age that Geoff and Lynne became friends!
I've lived in Ithaca, since 1995. My son, Noah Elman, 28, works in theatre in Chicago. I loved being a teacher for 26 years, but had to retire early in 2018 when I became ill with ME/CFS (chronic fatigue). Before that, I was into cycling, choral singing, and dancing. You will see me in a wheelchair because it helps me save energy, but I'm grateful that I can still walk. I met my husband, Bruce McKee, in 2004, but we didn't get married until this past August! We live with our two adorable and rambunctious mini-poodle mixes. I spend most of my time (outside of napping) creating art and being the family archivist. Bruce and I belong to Tikkun v'Or, Ithaca's Reform Congregation, and I serve as an organizer of online services as well as in the caring circle. Together, we’re involved with our local Indivisible chapter and also with J Street and Standing Together, among a number of local, national, and international non-profits. I am in regular touch with Liz, Tamara, Nancy, Lynne, Michelle, Becky, Aliza, Gwen, and Sarah. ithacami@gmail.com
I’ve been living in San Francisco for 27 years. I still fly back-and-forth to visit friends and see my mother who still lives in Harvard Square. She’s going to be 90 early next year and she’s still beautiful, active and with it!
I pinch myself weekly at how lucky I am to have created such a beautiful life here. My jewelry business is flourishing. I make and sell to all sorts of boutiques (from clothing boutiques to the Four Seasons!) and have even had my pieces worn on tv shows (ie The Bachelorette, Frasier etc).
When Covid hit, I decided to combine my home & office spaces and scored a stunning place that’s spacious enough to work from home, with views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
With all the weird changes in the world, I have to say I am so grateful for being able to do what I love, and live where I do.
I was really looking forward to going to the 40th reunion. There’s something really special about growing up in Brookline. So many grade school and high school memories - and all the familiar spots…
I am bummed not to be seeing so many familiar faces — have a wonderful catch up and be sure to post photos so we all can see. Lots of love!
I’ve lived in the Atlanta, Georgia suburbs since 1990, and I’ve worked as a bookkeeper for the same company for the past 30 years. So in some ways, there’s not much to update! I have 3 kids, 1 grandkid, and another on the way. I enjoy reading / audio book), walking with friends, racquetball, and hanging out with family. I’m a chronic crafter … starting one project, then moving on to another. I love traveling, especially to see my sisters who live in Newton, NYC, Pennsylvania, Texas, and California.
Hard to believe it has been 40 years. I moved to the DC area in 1993 for medical school and have been here ever since. I did a total of 27 years in the US Army as a physician. Met my husband and we have three boys. One has graduated from college, one is in college and one is in high school.
My brother lives in the house that we grew up in. His kids went to Driscoll and now are at BHS. I am grateful for my Brookline girlfriend’s who have remained an integral part of my life. Life is full and work is busy. Thankful for it all and looking forward to seeing old classmates.
Hello classmates! This is Julie Slotnik Sturm with a late breaking submission. I live in Brooklyn, NY with my husband and two empty bedrooms where my kids used to sleep. I work in nonprofit communications and I’m currently on the couch at Carla Roddy‘s house in West Rox - my dear friend since Kindergarten. Earlier today I drove by both my parents childhood homes - on Summit Avenue and Seaver Street. Proud to be second generation Brookline High. See you soon.
