Live Action Projects

This was my first time writing and directing a project during my Production Processes class in spring 2022. The students split into pairs, a director and DP, and came up with a project. Over the course of the semester, everyone in class would work in a different department on each project (camera, sound, art, etc). It was an interesting experience, but I'm not sure I'd want to direct again. 

A couple years ago the gang had to do a shoot out to compare the Blackmagic Ursa and the Red Helium cameras. This is the high dynamic range comparison, looking at how far into the highlights and shadows can be encoded before clipping or crushing.

A couple years ago the gang had to do a shoot out to compare the Blackmagic Ursa and the Red Helium cameras. This is the compositing comparison, looking at how well the background could be keyed out. It really came down to the software used, I remember trying to do the composite in Davinci Resolve and had a lot of trouble so I just went to Nuke and got it done easily.
