ZenFi Networks, a digital infrastructure company based in the tri-state-area, is investing $200 million in CityBridge. The company will be the primary builder of Link5G, laying the fiber network infrastructure, according to DoITT. This network will extend into many parts of the city that currently lack fiber, potentially opening up high-speed broadband access to homes and businesses in underserved neighborhoods.

Looking ahead, some people invested in digital equity issues do see some potential for Link5G to level the playing field between big telecom corporations and community-based service providers, especially when it comes to the new fiber infrastructure that the towers will bring.

Google had previously allowed Match's apps, including Tinder, to opt out of using the Play Store's billing system, but the company has changed its mind in recent months. Rather, it will be requiring all apps in the Play Store which support in-app Payments to use Google's Play billing system without the option of a third-party payments processor. This will exclude apps that sell physical goods like Uber Eats and Amazon, but ensnare those which sell digital goods like Amazon's Audible and Kindle apps. For Match, which had previously been allowed to run its own payment system side-by-side with Google's, the move comes as a slap in the face.

You need to repair the PCB as the calibration (and defect map) are unique to this drive, and DO NOT carry to others without problems. A few months late, but I have used cassettes with broken bridges. Previously I used a small piece of tape to keep them together, but tape can add thickness which can then interfere with the camera's pumping action and opening/closing when loading/unloading film. Recently I had an ACMEL cassette break on me and used Crazy Glue to fix it. Even the added thickness of the glue (added sparingly) makes the cassette a tight fit in my Minox C :/

The only program on the horizon is National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded EarthCube, focused on creating digital infrastructure. If one digs deeply enough into EarthCube-funded iSamples, one can find mention of museums and actual physical samples. EarthCube represents a bonanza for computer professionals, but little or nothing for medium-sized museum collections where collection numbers are actually put on rocks. We need money for cases, database upgrades, trained assistants, thin sections, and analytical instrument time for validating mineral identification. We need money to address the special needs of curating radioactive minerals, asbestiform minerals, and sulfide minerals.
