Since I was young, I've always wanted to tell stories.
I'm Brody Gatten, a creative and storyteller at heart. I got my start way back when, at 7 or 8 years old, when I wrote my first Captain Underpants-style graphic novel: Shift-Man. It tells the story of a young boy who can turn into any vehicle he pleases. Kind of like Beast Boy meets Optimus Prime.
Skip a few years, and now I've found myself at Kent State University, studying Digital Media Production.
A year into college, I found an organization called Black Squirrel Entertainment, a student ran media group. I joined the show called Grab Bag, an SNL-style sketch-comedy show.
Pictured to the left is me working on a shoot for Grab Bag. Our resource lab gave us a faulty shotgun mic, so I had to get a bit creative with the sound setup. You can see me holding a makeshift rig, crafted with a zoom recorder stuffed inside a boom blimp. Sometimes story telling has its hurdles.
I love using humor to entertain and tell stories. Comedy and storytelling is my passion, and I aim to get better each day.
