According to a January 24, 2003 edition of the Baltmore Sun, A U.S. government surveying team working in Leakin Park discovered the body of an unidentified man several yards off a road. The man's death is being investigated as a homicide, police said. Sgt. Darryl Massey said the federal team was working near Franklintown Road not far from a bike and walking trail about 8:30 a.m. when they found the body in a wooded area and called police.
The body was taken to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy and possible identification through fingerprints.
Later, a January 29 2003 edition of the Baltimore Sun tells us the body was identified as Broderick Lamont Richardson, 38. An autopsy determined that Richardson, of the 5000 block of Gwynn Oak Ave., died from a stab wound to the back.
