This year's induction ceremony will be taking place on Wednesday January 7th at 6PM in the Brockton High auditorium. Please read all of the following information carefully so you know exactly what to expect on the day of the ceremony.
The induction ceremony is an evening to celebrate you and your achievement. Family and friends are welcome to attend! We'll also be inviting the inspirational teacher that you chose to write about in your application.
While the ceremony is expected to begin around 6PM, we ask that you arrive about 20 minutes early to find your seat.
Upon your arrival, all inductees will be seated in the audience of the auditorium. Please look for your name card - it is important that you are seated in the correct order for when we are handing out certificates. Your inspirational teachers will be seated on the stage. After we have acknowledged them, you will transition to the seats on the stage. At that point, you will receive your certificates and pins, sign the NHS book, and say the NHS oath. That will mostly conclude the ceremony. You and your family are welcome to take photos afterwards!
The induction ceremony is a fairly formal event and requires clothing a little nicer than what you might wear to school on a day to day basis. You should be aiming for the same level of formality that you might wear to an interview or a nice dinner. Jeans/T-shirts/sweats/crop tops/Crocs are not appropriate. We also don't want to be as formal as what you might wear to prom. Slacks/pants, a nice shirt, or a dress are examples of appropriate things to wear. I found these infographics that have examples of interview attire - they're pretty good guides for the ceremony. I also found that if you Google "what to wear to National Honor Society ceremony," you get a lot of pictures of very appropriate outfit choices.
