Welcome to the Broadway San Diego Awards Registration Hub — your central resource for important dates, participation materials, adjudication information, submission forms, and program updates for the 2027 season.

This hub was created to help streamline communication and provide educators with easy access to everything needed throughout the Broadway San Diego Awards process. We’re excited to celebrate another incredible year of high school musical theatre across San Diego County! 🎭

How to Get Started 🧭

Review the list of approved musicals and qualified roles through The Jimmy Awards® to confirm your production is eligible.
Submit Your School's Entry
Submit production dates once they are confirmed
Submit student information pertaining to your musical's student qualified roles
Prepare student bios, headshots, resumes, and student permission slip for submission
Review adjudicator guidelines and confirm performance details prior to performances

Participate in the Broadway San Diego Awards 🎭

STEP 1: Review Approved Musicals & Qualified Roles - Review the official list of approved musicals and qualified roles through The Jimmy Awards® to confirm your production is eligible for participation.

STEP 2: Enter Your Production - Begin by registering your school’s musical for the 2026/2027 season.

STEP 3: Submit Production Dates/Times - Once your performance schedule is confirmed, submit your production dates so adjudicators can be assigned.

STEP 4: Submit Qualified Role Student Information - Provide student names, category, roles, and contact information for students in qualified/eligible roles within your production. Please make sure to submit this information no later than 2 weeks prior to your opening night performance.

STEP 5: Upload Student Materials - Provide student bios, headshot, resumes, and student permission slip for adjudication and program materials. Feel free to share this link with your students so they can upload their own materials individually, making the submission process easier for everyone.

Scholarships may be available upon request (SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION)
Schools will receive confirmation once entry and payment are received
Production participation is not considered complete until payment has been processed

The Jimmy Awards® Student Reporter Search🎤

The Student Reporter Program is an opportunity for students that provides aspiring journalists, writers, photographers, and content creators with hands-on experience covering the Broadway San Diego Awards season. Throughout the year, selected applicants will have the opportunity to attend participating high school productions, interview students and educators, and produce digital content celebrating musical theatre across San Diego County. They will also get the chance to create written features and reviews working alongside the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle.

Following the Broadway San Diego Awards season, the selected Student Reporter will have the opportunity to apply for the national Jimmy Awards® Student Reporter Program. If selected, they will travel to New York City to cover the Jimmy Awards® experience and share behind-the-scenes stories from one of the nation's premier high school musical theatre events.
